UK Government To Install Surveillance Cameras In Private Homes

UK Government To Install Surveillance Cameras In Private Homes Paul Joseph WatsonPrison Planet.comMonday, August 3, 2009The UK government is about to spend $700 million dollars installing surveillance cameras inside the private homes of citizens to ensure that children go to bed on time, attend school and eat proper meals. No you aren’t reading a passage from George Orwell’s 1984 or Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, this is Britain in 2009, a country which already has more surveillance cameras watching its population than the whole of Europe put together. Now the government is embarking on a scheme called “Family Intervention Projects” which will literally create a nanny state on steroids, with social services goons and private security guards given the authority to make regular “home checks” to ensure parents are raising their children correctly.030809top.jpgTelescreens will also be installed so government spies can keep an eye on whether parents are mistreating kids and whether the kids are fulfilling their obligations under a pre-signed contract.Around 2,000 families have been targeted by this program so far and the government wants to snare 20,000 more within the next two years. The tab will be picked up by the taxpayer, with the “interventions” being funded through local council authorities.Another key aspect of the program will see parents deemed “responsible” by the government handed the power to denounce and report bad parents who allow their children to engage in bad behavior. Such families will then be targeted for “interventions”.Both parents and children will also be forced to sign a “behavior contract” with the government known as Home School Agreements before the start of every year, in which the state will dictate obligations that it expects to be met.The opposition Conservative Party, who are clear favorites to win the next British election, commented that the program does not go far enough and is “too little, too late.”Respondents to a Daily Express article about the new program expressed their shock at the totalitarian implications of what is unfolding in the United Kingdom under the guise of social services initiatives.http://www.prisonplanet.com/uk-government-...vate-homes.html

An Orwellian Turn for the UKDATE: 8/4/2009 Children's Secretary Ed Balls unveils £400 million plan to put 20,000 problem families under 24-hour CCTV surveillance By Gabe PernaA recent development in the United Kingdom has naysayers conjuring up images of George Orwell and his famed literary classic, 1984. Children's Secretary Ed Balls recently unveiled a £400 million plan to put problem families under 24-hour CCTV surveillance. Monitoring will take place to make sure children are attending school, eating healthy meals and going to bed on time. The program, titled "The Family Intervention Project" is actually underway as 2,000 families have gone through them so far. The UK government wants 20,000 more to take part with each family costing approximately £5,000-20,000. The hope from the government is this move will reduce the amount of children drawn into crime. Balls wants the local authorities to fund the projects.“This is pretty tough and non-negotiable support for families to get to the root of the problem. There should be Family Intervention Projects in every local authority area because every area has families that need support," Balls said to the UK's Daily Express. In addition to the closed caption televisions in each of the homes, the program would also allow private security guards to stop by the homes for "check-up" purposes. Needless to say, the entire movement has troubled many who have made the logical tie to Orwell's, "1984." http://www.technology-digital.com/MarketSe...e-UK_30582.aspx
Are some of you going to say Ed Balls is a conspiracy theory and does not exist? Kind of backfired on those who could not handle reading an article from a reliable alternative news site and try say it was false
