England Youth International midfielder Henri Lansbury has today joined Championship side Watford on loan.Gifted teenager Henri was another member of Arsenal’s Academy to gain valuable first-team experience on loan last season. After impressing in the Under-18s and Reserves at the start of 2008/09, the tenacious midfielder moved north to spend three months at Scunthorpe United. In total, Henri scored five goals in 17 appearances for ‘The Iron’, including a start in their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final defeat at Wembley Stadium. Arsenal can confirm that young midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has joined Championship side Blackpool on loan for one month. The 18 year-old midfielder celebrated his first season as a young professional by captaining Arsenal’s Under-18s to the FA Youth Cup and Academy League cup ’double’. But perhaps that shouldn’t come as a surprise - the teenager first captained the Club’s Academy side at the age of just 16. The versatile midfielder was an integral part of last season’s FA Youth Cup success, scoring winning goals against Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, in addition to strikes against Sunderland and Liverpool. As well as his vital performances at Under-18 level, Jay caught the eye for Neil Banfield’s Reserves at left-back, in midfield and as centre-forward, scoring against West Bromwich Albion in the Reserves’ last match of the season. Jay will immediately join up with Blackpool and will stay on loan with Ian Holloway’s side for a one month period until 17th September 2009. Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Jay the best of luck during his time with Blackpool.
