on my mums life today is the first time i have ever been in this room on this forum!!!so heres the life story, i play football, was playing at a decent standard (conferance north) but ive always had a horrible diet but cos i played so much football i got away with it, never putting weight on, infact generally being exceptionally fitso last year i tear my knee ligaments, on crutches for 6/7 weeks, but didnt change my diet - biggest mistake ever, put on weight but in my head im thinking its cool as soon as im playing again i'll lose it all, forgetting im not 14 any more...anywho fast forward 18 months since i got injured and i probably been back playing without any hitches for about 6 months ish (anyone who has had a serious injury knows about thinking your back cos your knee is okay then your calf going, then your groin, then hamstring etc etc etc) but still not losing the weight, im fit - cardio wise, and not massively over weight at all, but just carrying more than i should beso ive addressed my diet to an extent, and obviously been playing football but finally joined the gym yesterday after my boys been telling me to do it for a while now but i have no idea where to start, all my boys are weight freaks and i dont wanna jump straight on thatbeen browsing through here and couple man seem dead knowledgable on this ting so any tips in regards to training methods, diet, equipment, so on and so forth would be dead appreciatedand please dumb it all down for me aswel cos im not with this gym lingoeasy.

Obviously stick to healthier foods, no fried stuff, stay away from stuff that's high in saturated fats etc but you also need to trim your meals down. Have smaller meals but have more meals, like 6 a day. Also if you can, try doing your workout before breakfast.
