Staple foods, Rice, Pasta, Chicken, Potatoes.Buy these in large quantities, they are all cheap and lots of different things can be done with them.Obviously you can choose to supplement with spices, peas, sauce etc.For just price-wise, go to Iceland, they have millions of £1 meal deals on offer. Asda is good too.Milk is also very good for sustenance, organic though.Avoid foods high in saturated fats and lots of sugar, i.e. hotdogs, haribo.More improtantly - never pay for water.

How much do people spend a month on food?Only people who live on their own need answer
£50 a week.If ur willing to cook, buying some spices and tins of tomatoes u can make sauces for pretty much anything, big bag of dried pasta, sum veg and that - make bare sauces, freeze them, and then use when desired.

£20 a week is more than enough to feed one person, you should be able to eat pretty well for that amount. But if the whole monthly pay/saving money each week is a worry, then yeah, like a few people said, a lot of things can be pre-prepared & then frozen.

depends on how well u want to eat. u can eat budget and still eat healthy or u can screw health and invest in cancer ridden GM foods in a can/box for a paaandiceland is ur friend for that.or to cook ur own food u can buy stuff like turkey breasts (cheaper than beef, lamb and chicken)packet noodles and stir fry veg packets. lots of rice and pasta for cheapweetabix/oats for breakfast, saver brand eggs. baked beans and bread.the wont be much variety but you'll survive
