...build my strength but without getting bigger?my goal is to lose a bit more weight and get cut/defined, and dont wanna get bigger than i am now but i want to be stronger. What should i be doing?

Thing is, you can't just walk in and start doing heavy weights and low reps. Gotta go in with the light weight and lots of reps when you first start gyming... Set the base coat, so to speak. Otherwise you'll be prone for injury later.

If you maintain your carlorie intake while lifting progressively heavier weights in theory you should get stronger but not put on size. Still get you're protein but aim for around 2750 calories for like a 170 pound 5"10 man.I'm by no means an expert but from reading articles online, I got this impression.
