Arsenal will complete the signing of Bolivan winger Samuel Galindo next week, Young Guns can confirm. The player is in London and the club are in the process of applying for a ’special talent’ work permit. If granted, it would allow Galindo to go straight into the squad, instead of facing a lengthy loan spell.Samuel, the current captain of Boliva’s Under 21 national team despite being only 17, will be a surprise signing after it appeared he would seal a switch to Everton earlier this week. Following a week-long trial, David Moyes sat down with the prospect to discuss terms, but an agreement couldn’t be reached. Instead Arsène Wenger asked for a quick look at the left winger and was instantly impressed. A quick deal has been done with Real America which will see a figure of around £500,000 change hands, although that will rise once he makes 50 appearances for the club.The skilful and energetic attacking talent has been preffered to Juventude’s Brazilian starlet Zezinho, who Arsenal have been in constant contact with. Samuel has been training with Wenger’s first-team charges over the last two days and it appears that he will bypass the youth setup and go straight into contention for a starting place in the closing months of the season. This would be of course if the permit is granted, and he passes a medical. The club famously exploited the ’special talent’ option to bring Alexandre Song to North London in 2005.
Gunnerblog is happy to confirm that Arsenal have poached Bolivian 17-year old Samuel Galindo from under the noses of Premier League rivals Everton.The playmaker, who is captain of his country at both U-17 and U-20 level, was flown to England by Everton for a week’s trial, including a behind-closed-doors game. At the end of the week David Moyes was keen to do a deal, but no precise terms were offered.In the meantime, Galindo was offered a day’s trial at London Colney. Impressed by the six-foot-plus forward’s technique and physicality, Arsene said he would gladly have the boy back again, but couldn’t possibly make a decision on a transfer on the basis of just one training session.At this stage, Everton got wind of Arsenal’s interest, and were furious. They issued Galindo and his father, who had travelled with the boy to London, an ultimatum: return to the North-West and sign the deal on offer, or the deal was dead.Galindo showed incredibly maturity and confidence to ignore Everton’s threat and return for a second day’s training at Colney, in which he took part in a five-a-side game on the same team as the likes of Fabregas and Arshavin - and, by all accounts, didn’t look out of place. Aware of the pressure the boy was under from Everton, and impressed by his obvious talent, Arsene made his interest plain: a deal was on.Galindo is not yet eligible for a work permit and may well have to travel the same Mediterranean path that brought Carlos Vela to London. However, whilst the final details of the transfer are yet to be ironed out, Arsenal have essentially agreed to purchase yet another talented young star.It’s been a busy couple of days in the transfer window. Hopefully there’ll be yet more news in the next couple of weeks, perhaps even with the arrival of that all-important striker…

Decent player, But do we really need a 17 year old with no experience at Prem level. Is he really gonna help us win the league ?
comment like this are dumb...if the player is good enought then he will help us out regardless of age or experience...Im not saying that experience aint important but if hes good enough (going from the article they seem to think hes a special talent) then i'll welcome any signing...I still holding out for a DM or a FW

comment like this are dumb...if the player is good enought then he will help us out regardless of age or experience...Im not saying that experience aint important but if hes good enough (going from the article they seem to think hes a special talent) then i'll welcome any signing...I still holding out for a DM or a FW
I get wot ur sayin, if hes good enough he will help us, But i think that experience is needed in our team more than a talented youth with little experience at the highest level. He might turn out to be a star like Fabregas, he might not.I am holdin out for another forward, Weng needs to get sum backup for RVP.

Arsène Wenger intends to loan out Samuel Galindo as soon as the Bolivian midfielder arrives at Arsenal.The 17-year-old from Real America clearly has qualities the Frenchman admires. However Galindo is unlikely to continue his football education in London for now. Instead he may move to abroad."I'm looking to send him out on loan," admitted Wenger at Friday's press conference. "We have a few clubs in mind."Galindo is a player who has good technique. He's intelligent, 6ft 2ins tall, left-footed with good stamina. He is a central midfielder who can give good balls. He has good vision too which we like here."

Bolivian TV network El Deportivo TV have published exclusive documents which suggest potential Arsenal signing Samuel Galindo is an ‘age cheat’. They say the Bolivia youth team captain is 20-years-old, not 17 as previously touted.The network shows what they claim is Samuel’s correct passport, not a fake which was allegedly shown to officials at the Under 17 World Cup earlier this year after questions were raised by competing teams. The hosts, Nigeria, had 11 players in a 25 man squad fail bone tests in what proved to be one of the biggest attempts to field ineligible players in youth sport. Should the evidence be found to be 100% accurate, Galindo’s transfer to Arsenal may still be in doubt.The passport picture – Here – clearly shows a picture of Samuel as a youngster with the birth date of 18 April 1989, making him 20 and about to turn 21 in just over two months time. The passport shown to officials at the World Cup lists the central midfielder as born on 18 April 1994. El Deportivo have dismissed the latter as false, just like they did with one of Samuel’s international colleagues, Carlos Castro. They published information which proved Castro was lying about his age, but the Bolivian federation ignored the pleas of the network for an investigation.Now president of the ANF, Jorge Justiniano, will collaborate with the news agency in a mass inquiry to stop the adulteration of some players registered in the Bolivian Soccer Federation, and to clear up any anomalies.More news is expected shortly.
