how important is it that i do these? I have never really done the stretching before a workout but would 10 minutes on the cross trainer count as warming up? and does 5 minutes rowing at the end count as warming down?safe
yes these count as warmup and warm down but stretching is vital b4 and after workouteven if you dont go to gym if you just do 10 mins of stretching then you will receive benefitsnot about pounding the sh*t out of yr muscles and joints and not giving them the oxygen needed to recover and improve

Warm down is important to reduce lactic acid andwill make you less soreBe careful when warming up because excessive stretching increases muscle fatigue and will make your lifting that much more difficult

excessive stretching may (?) but you shud actually stretch the muscle u are working on between sets to aid recovery and increase sizeunless the weights u are lifting cause the same level of exertion as a 30 second stretchplus theres nothing better than safeguarding against unecessary injury imo
