Do I need a soundcard if I have an interface?

One bredda at uni wants to do some studio sh*t in my room, now ive got a lappy, but obv his mic has a jack lead as a cableso obv i need an interfacehow will i go about itdo i just cop the interface to act as the sound processing bit and just hook it up to the lappy?or do i also need a soundcard?

interface is a sound card, plug it into the usb.....i think

or You could get a jack to mini jack convertor, if thats the only reason You want a soundcard, unless You want to use the jack specifically. but yh the soundcard is an interface, dnt get a usb one, get one You fit properly, or a firewire one.
