9 year old dies after stabbing in Bradford

A nine-year-old boy has died after being stabbed in Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police were called to an address in Rookes Avenue in the Wibsey area at about 1945 GMT on Thursday.

A police spokesperson said the boy, who has not yet been named, was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary, where he died from his injuries.

The spokesman said a man in his 20s had been arrested on suspicion of murder. Police said inquiries into the death were continuing.

The address on the housing estate has been cordoned off and the police spokesperson said neighbourhood officers were in the area.

A spokeswoman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said a call was received at 1942 GMT and a rapid response vehicle and ambulance were sent to the address.
