i dont know maybe u could write about the correlations between the gangs the cops the cartel and the politicians eg in terms of social structure, economic transactions, ethos etc etc and what the directors did to show the similarities. i'm not doing a arts degree so this could be bullshit but f*ck it. one thing i do recommend is forget about the dissertation for the evening, smoke a few zoots, watch the last episode and just think about what hit u deepest, did it leave u asking any questions. u always do ur best work when u genuinely want to learn about a topic.

when I did mine I thought it had to be quite serious so I chose can advertising be classified as art, couple weeks later I ask one of my friends what they're doing....'how Ice cream is used to symbolise adolescence in tv and film'

I enjoyed mine though, learnt a lot about past designers and how the commercialisation of art isn't always a bad thing.

Do you use footnotes each time a scene is referenced?

waited till 4 days before deadline to get some feedback

all it said was 'surprised you didnd't include my name in your acknowledgments' and that was it

left it for a day

then before i knew it i'd done all the structure and formatting side of the thing and it was time to hand it in

so i essentially handed in my first draft

so sad

how & when did you lot all decide what you wanted to write your's on

did you have a topic you were always interested in then try to frame it in reference of your academic discipline, or did you just pick a topic from your course you knew you could pull off and was relevant?

i'm a bit stuck for ideas atm, although my field is quite broad i beleive

Had an idea I started with and realised there was pretty much no material from the UK so after going through a mad period, I was speaking to a friend about hers and listened to hers and then I developed my idea from there.
