Micael warning for GunnersMidfielder believes Fabregas absence could work against PortoBy Francisco Acedo Last updated: 9th March 2010 Subscribe to RSS FeedMicael warning for GunnersMicael: Confident ahead of kick-offLIVE ON SKY SPORTSArsenal v Porto7pm, Tues, Sky Sports HD2, Sky Sports 2 and online with Sky PlayerRuben Micael has warned Arsenal that Porto will not shut up shop in the UEFA Champions League and are ready to cause an upset.Jesualdo Ferreira's side hold a 2-1 first-leg advantage in their last-16 clash ahead of Tuesday's return meeting at Emirates Stadium, but their hosts remain confident. The Gunners only require a 1-0 win on home soil to progress on away goals to leave Arsene Wenger's men with far from a mountain to climb. However, Micael insists Porto are well aware of the danger of simply defending their lead and they have no intention of sitting back against their hosts."To play defensively in our own area is not our plan because in these conditions it is impossible to stop the attacks of Arsenal," said the midfielder.Domestic disappointmentPorto have had a disappointing domestic season and sit 11 points adrift of leaders Benfica in the Portuguese top flight.Micael, though, does not believe that misfiring form in their homeland will necessarily mean the 2004 European champions will struggle on the continent."In the Portuguese League we are not in our desired position, but this is not significant in the Champions League," he said.Micael is also cautious about the absence of Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and does not think the Gunners captain's hamstring injury is necessarily an advantage for Porto."The absence of Cesc Fabregas does not guarantee our success. I think that it could also be negative as his replacement will be at 100 per cent fitness."

Ferguson - Rooney is fitStar striker available to tackle MilanLast updated: 9th March 2010 Subscribe to RSS FeedĀ£20 Free Bet For Sky Sports FansMan Utd to win 2-0, draw 1-1 13/2 or lose 3-2 66/11st Goalscorer - Rooney 7/2, Berbatov 5/1 or Scholes 14/1Bet now on Man Utd v AC MilanFerguson - Rooney is fitRooney: Fit to face Milan We will hope to kill the tie with our own attacking abilities.Sir Alex Ferguson.Quotes of the weekRelated linksTeams * AC Milan * Manchester UnitedPlayers * Wayne RooneyAlso see * Watch games on your PC * Champions League on Sky * Video highlightsManchester United striker Wayne Rooney is fit to face AC Milan in Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League showdown.Rooney had been rated as a major doubt for the second leg of the last-16 clash at Old Trafford after a knee injury ruled him out of Saturday's 1-0 victory over Wolves. The England international aggravated the problem he sustained after coming off the bench in the Carling Cup final while on duty for Fabio Capello's England in their 3-1 friendly success over Egypt.Sir Alex Ferguson was unhappy to see his star striker play twice in quick succession on the much-criticised Wembley pitch and hinted before the weekend that his top scorer would not be available to tackle the Serie A side.RapidBut the 28-goal forward, who bagged a brace in the 3-2 success at the San Siro, will return to face Milan, who will have former United favourite David Beckham in their ranks as he makes his first Old Trafford appearance in seven years.Rooney was back in training with his team-mates for the first time on Tuesday morning having surprised the medical staff with the speed of his recovery.Ferguson told a press conference televised by Sky Sports News: "He is fit, I am glad to say that he is fit."He has showed a rapid improvement since Saturday morning. He was extremely doubtful, but he is OK."Kill the tieFerguson will send out his side with the intention of finishing off Milan as he believes the Red Devils are not at their best when on the back foot.He added: "It is certainly an open tie and I think what we are going to see tomorrow will be a very open game."We will hope to kill the tie with our own attacking abilities. There is no doubt that AC Milan have to score, which should make it a really open match."I don't think we are very good at defending leads, so we will play our normal way. That means attacking, it always has. We will try and do it our normal way."I don't think we should be confused by the score of 3-2 as passage into the next phase of this competition."We accept this is a very difficult game for us and one which we need to win. And that's how I'm approaching it, to win the match."

Adams is so cringeworthy at times...
Speaking of cringeworthy, that thing that the stadium announcer does before Arsenal games where he reads out the first name of the player and the crowd are meant to chant the second name . why dont they scrap that, they been doing it since they moved to the Emirates and it hasn't seemed to of caught on. unless done well it just sounds terrible

Its done well at the stadium, IMO, just depends on the player, plus players like Denilson it certainly doesnt work for, in either name or fan appreciation.
