St. George wasn't English, pretty sure he was born in Turkey. He never even came to England.

Hardly a big sign of patriotism when a handful of other countries celebrate this day.

Definitely shocking. Next they'll say St Patrick wasnt really Irish and St Andrew wasnt really Scottish.

Saint George is the patron saint of Aragon, Catalonia, England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal, and Russia, as well as the cities of Amersfoort, Beirut, Fakiha, Bteghrine, Cáceres (Spain), Ferrara, Freiburg, Genoa, Ljubljana, Gozo, Milan, Pomorie, Preston, Salford, Qormi, Rio de Janeiro, Lod, Barcelona and Moscow, as well as a wide range of professions, organizations, and disease sufferers.

Born in Palestine

Dad was roman, mum was a turk

Born in Cappadocia (which is now Turkey) Dad was also from there but was a Roman soldier and his mother was from Palestine.
