Experienced striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been left out of the Holland training squad for this summer's World Cup.

The 33-year-old retired from international football after Euro 2008 but had since made himself available for selection again.

However, he does not feature in coach Bert van Marwijk's plans after missing out on the initial 26-man training squad.

Van Marwijk will meet with his players in two separate training camps next week, although Arjen Robben, Mark van Bommel and Wesley Sneijder will remain with their clubs as they prepare for the UEFA Champions League final.

Jeremain Lens from AZ Alkmaar and Ajax'sVurnon Anita were given their first call-ups, while Van Marwijk will name his 30-man provisional squad for the World Cup on 11th May.

Germany pick surprise names

Aogo and Badstuber included in provisional 27-man line-up

Aogo: Shock inclusion

Germany manager Joachim Low has included the surprise selections of Dennis Aogo and Holger Badstuber in his provisional squad for this summer's World Cup.

Hamburg defender Aogo and Bayern Munichyoungster Badstuber were named in the 27-man line-up when it was announced on Thursday.

Low also selected Bayern Munich veteran Hans-Jorg Butt among the three goalkeepers who are all vying to become the new No.1 after Rene Adler had to pull out due to injury.

Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack was an obvious inclusion, while defender Jerome Boateng, who is reportedly set to sign for Manchester City, also featured.

World Cup specialist Miroslav Klose was among the six strikers selected by Low ahead of the finals, where Germany will compete in Group D alongside Australia, Serbia and Ghana.

Goalkeepers: Hans-Jorg Butt, Manuel Neuer, Tim Wiese.

Defenders: Per Mertesacker, Heiko Westermann, Philipp Lahm, Jerome Boateng, Andrea Beck, Arne Friedrich, Serdar Tasci, Marcell Jansen, Holger Badstuber, Dennis Aogo.

Midfielders: Michael Ballack, Sami Khedira, Piotr Trochowski, Marko Marin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Christian Trasch, Mesut Ozil, Toni Kroos.

Forwards: Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose, Stefan Kiessling, Cacau, Thomas Muller,Mario Gomez.
