Ben Foster to Birmingham

Birmingham to end Ben Foster's Manchester United misery by sealing £6m swoop for keeper

Birmingham have agreed a £6million deal with Manchester United for goalkeeper Ben Foster.

The two clubs held talks over the weekend and have struck a deal for the 27-year-old with a basic £4million being paid up front and the rest added according to performances and international caps.

It ends a period of frustration for Foster who has struggled in the shadow of Edwin van der Sar and realised his days were numbered with United scouting Manuel Neuer at Schalke and, number one target, Hugo Lloris of Lyon in recent weeks.

Foster said his goodbyes to teammates at Carrington on Saturday and will look forward to regular football at Birmingham from next season.

Birmingham also hope to sign Rangers striker Kris Boyd over the next few weeks on a free transfer.

That's fine

Been poor when he's played this season and had the chance to cement his no1 place for next season.

He's 27 ffs

27 isnt old for a keeper at all.

he's easily got 10 years ahead of him,

saying all that though the deal is probably good for all parties involved

We just dont have time to develop young keepers

Maybe he should have gone out on loan for longer

But he has had his change

Cant see us signing a new keeper with this new 25 squad limit with a certin amount of english players in place

Hopefully Amos can step up

Wish Foster all the best though

Will probly be top 3selected keepers next season

He has talent just does not thrive at all under the spot light and pressure

Will put in MOM performances against us aswell no doubt

Oh but Foster is only young. Surely Utd won't sell him he is Englands future number 1

This piece of sh*t is 27 years old ffs. Same age as Reina who has about 8 seasons of football. This guy is a fraud, Kirkland is better

I wonder where Hart will go now..

I doubt he will get ahead of Given

Arsenal should definitely table something imo.

Given will be out for the first part of the season. if Hart plays like he's played this season i expect him to keep his place.

No way they are both players that want and are at the age & ability to play.
