Why Mac?

I'm in the market to buy a new laptop since the one I am currently using is looking to be on the verge of death.

I have been looking at a number of laptops but 2 lines seem to have caught my eye most.

1. PC Laptop - HP Envy 14 & 17 (Expected release July 2010)

Specs seem banging and looks like it was modelled after the macbook pro with the metal chassis and all.

2. Macbook pro 15-inch.

Expensive but I wanna know what the mac hype is all about.

How does bootcamp, parrellels and VMware work? Which one is better?

Macs never break. Ever. Unless you like abuse them physically.

They are just very convenient. Look wonderful.

The Envy is good though. I have the 15. Do the 14 and 16 have built in CD Drives now? My one doesn't. It's a bump

C/S

My macbook has a built in CD Drive. Only thing I wish it had is a VGA port so I can put it on the TV but even without that it is better than normal laptops IMO. Plus the fact it doesn't get viruses alone is worth having it even without its other features.

had my macbook for bout 3 yrs now, works good as the day i got it. Over the same time watched my bredrins go through a couple laptops. No viruses. If u wana use bootcamp, i'd advise u get a mouse tho, but i have'nt had 2 use it, nearly everything has a mac version.

swear the only real reason any 1 has stated is relaibilty lol

any body who knows how to use a pc properly and keeps their freeware anti virus progs updated shouldnt have problems with viruses

viruses mostly happen to them people who click on any mad file extenstions they come across

Reliability, look and run alot better than any laptop/pc I have ever used.

And the whole virus thing is in regards to the simple fact that you don't even need to commit any RAM or HDD space to anti virus programs, spyware/malware programs, etc.

from when it take a mac 7 seconds to start up and 5 seconds to shut down >>>>>

had my mac book 3 years now and its still going strong.....

LOL at all my boys at uni having countless problems with there windows lappys.

tbh the look of it comes last for me, yeah it looks better than 90% of other lappy but the performance >>>>>>

It depends what your going to be using it for I got mine to use for stuff like Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro,Abelton, etc and also having bootcamp means i can use PC programmes as well.

Other than that other good things about the mac is the general feel of everything especially on the Macbook Pro's they are deadly silent.

Windows actually feels like a piece of sh*t once you've been using a mac for a hot minute

yup, most of these fools who say 'you only use macs because they look good' have never even used a mac for a propa period...

spent a year using the macs at college and i had to cop after that..... no looking back.
