Anyone watch BBC news London just now?

All these primary school kids using slang n sh*t to 'express themselves'

Came up with some shocking statistics that say a lot of people leave secondary school without a proper grasp of English

I don't think that the importance/ power and proper use of this language is emphasised nearly enough

It's an absolue necessity and should be pushed more than any other subject IMO, regardless of how rich and diverse the culture is

THOUGHTS/ FEELINGS?

sadly this is nothing new

there should most definitely be a greater emphasis placed upon the use of the english language

i know plenty of guys who at 18 can still barely write

Slang is an important aspect of the English language IMO. Always has been.

It obviously shouldn't come at the cost of learning basic proper English, but it has its place. It's always interesting to track developments/origins of slang.

yutes in da endz have more important things to worry bout than spelling

cosign Mr Skeng

Learning the correct english language is nowhere in their priorities which is why they don't know it.

but on topic, everyone should read regularly, if not a book at least a newspaper, somewhere where words are spelt correctly

Also just read what this report is about

They missed the point which isn''t surprising

Everyone where we live, comes up speaking a certain way. and of course most people know how to switch it up when required to. But unless you take lessons in eloquency, you will never get away from it and be descriminated against on a daily basis without you even clocking.

life is f*cked.
