Youtube Gangsters Snitching On Themselves

49 posts in this topic

COCKY gang members are posting home-made rap videos on the web to threaten rivals with murder.

And they are using the films – which they upload on YouTube – to boast about their criminal lifestyles.

The craze has seen the internet flooded with clips of teens rapping about drug dealing, rape, guns and killings.

A Daily Star Sunday investigation found hundreds of the sinister videos made by gangs from London, Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham.

In one, members of the Peckham Boys – the gang that Damilola Taylor’s killers Rickie and Danny Preddie belonged to – rap about killing a “snitch” who went to the police.

Wearing hoods and black bandanas, the group of teens crowd around the camera swearing and making gun-toting gestures.

In one line the rapper says: “Now this little scally turned Fed (slang for police).

“Gonna boot him in the face ’til my eyeballs turn red. Next thing the little faggot turned dead. I put a knife in his chest and put his soul in the sky.”

Another South London mob member, who calls himself John Wayne, boasts about having guns and killing people.

Rappers from the Pecknarm gang warn off rivals encroaching on their turf while Greenwich-based Cherry Red Bloods also mark their territory with raps.

In Manchester the M-16 gang warn enemies that “people get shot and dropped round here”.

And in Birmingham a gangster from the Mob Squad pledges on film to get revenge on an enemy.

The trend is now so popular gangs are turning to production companies to make their videos look professional.

Producer Toki Hardy, who films rap videos for gangs and aspiring rappers for his YouTube channel ToxicTV1, said business is booming.

He reckons most of the films he makes are for gangsters who want to make a name in the music industry.

He said: “The trend for gangs making videos came from the US.

“A lot of them are desperate to get off the streets and they see being a rap star as the only way of doing it.

“There are gangs with beefs and they rap about it. They may have had a gang member killed by a rival gang and they want people to know they are out for revenge.

“There are definitely gangs out there who are criminals and they are proud to let the whole world know about it.”

Police are increasingly using the films to nail crooks and the videos have been used as evidence in trials.

Last week five members of a burgling gang, who posted rap videos on the internet glorifying their crimes, were sent to jail.

The youths, calling themselves the Night Crawlers, posted a string of videos on YouTube under the name NC

Bangers.

A spokesman for the Association of Chief Police Officers said: “Images and videos posted online, which link criminals to serious crimes, are treated like any other form of evidence and are increasingly being used to help secure successful prosecutions.”
