Ghana have appointed Goran Stevanovic as the new coach of the national side, the country's Football Association has confirmed.

The 44-year-old succeeds fellow Serbian Milovan Rajevac at the helm, who completed his two-year contract last year.

Stevanovic, a former Partizan Belgrade coach, finalised the details of his deal with the Ghana FA on Tuesday and will be officially unveiled at a press conference on Wednesday.

A Ghana FA statement read: "The Ghana Football Association has appointed a new coach for the Black Stars, Goran Stevanovic.

"We have successfully negotiated with the coach and he will replace his compatriot Milovan Rajevac.

"The coach will be presented to the public at a press conference at the GFA on Wednesday 12 January 2011 at 10am."

Ghana will take on England in a senior international for the first time in a friendly clash at Wembley on 29th March.

The match is scheduled three days after Fabio Capello's side play their first Euro 2012 qualifier of the year against Wales at the Millennium Stadium.
