Nah I think it's a perk to identify enemies. It might be a counter perk to the one that allows to you to pretend you're on the enemy side so when your enemies see you they think you are on their team.

thats a heavy perk, makes for a whole different type of gameplay and seen it in other games. altho in something like cod it would lead to people just massacring teams because of how quickly you die.

Dont know if im gonna get this was playin kill zone2 and it just felt dead out, but they do say this one is much better
