Sky Sports News sources understand former goalkeeper Jens Lehmann is holding talks with Arsenal regarding a possible return to the club.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is considering bringing in keeping cover after Wojciech Szczesny joined Lukasz Fabianski and Vito Mannone on the sidelines.

The injuries have left Manuel Almunia as Arsenal's only senior keeper and Lehmann has been linked with a return to Emirates Stadium.

Lehmann is due to spend six weeks at his old club to work on his coaching badges and was remaining coy on the possibility of being part of Wenger's squad when asked about a possible deal on Sunday.

Positive talks

"I am in London and so far have heard nothing of such plans, but you never know," Lehmann told Bild am Sonntag.

However, it is believed the club have held 'positive talks' with Lehmann, although a deal has not been done and Arsenal declined to comment.

The 41-year-old spent five years with Arsenal and made almost 200 appearances for the club after his 2003 arrival from Borussia Dortmund.

He returned to the Bundesliga with Stuttgart in 2008 before the former Germany international called time on his playing career last summer

Madest goalkeeper EVER.

Wenger must hate Almunia, clearly he has realised that Lehmann's torment while his number 2, actually kept Almunia on his toes.

Wenger is a sick man, his emergency loan is a retired keeper, fully couldn't be bothered to endure watching those summer goalkeeper scouting videos again.

If he does re sign Lehmann it would be peak to see him in the Prem again

If only the possibility of this came up in Jan which would of given him the chance to face Barca again(you can tell he feels he owes Barca from 2006)

Lengman

When he said about Almunia

'To be sitting on the bench behind somebody who only started to play when he was 30 is not funny.”

And that he had to 'cllench his fist in his pocket' watching Almunia play

I almost died

I knew Jens was f*cked when...

Alexander Hleb has revealed how Jens Lehmann gave his Arsenal team-mates the silent treatment after losing his place in the side.

A combination of injury and poor form in the opening weeks of the season saw Lehmann replaced by Manuel Almunia, with the Spaniard now Arsene Wenger's No.1 choice.

The veteran German took the decision badly, and came close to leaving the club in the January transfer window.

Gunners midfielder Hleb was taken aback by Lehmann's reaction as he became a withdrawn figure.

Hleb told The Sun: "At first, when Jens was not picked, he was very angry. He did not speak any more.

"He has a good heart - as long as we speak about private things.

"But when he stands on the training ground he becomes a different person. The way he acts there sometimes needs getting used to."
