My guess is that that rumoured Google Music service will launch around the same time "Ice Cream" for Android comes out.

If the focus for that Android release is to bring everything from Honeycomb to mobile phones, the stock Music Player might get a further sprucing up. (There's also talk of Cloud Syncing from that leaked Honeycomb Music Player .apk)

Seeing as Samsung already made one of these Android Music Players for themselves, I see no problem them doing one for Google.

Would at least make some sense as to why Google chose Samsung for Nexus S, could've been part of a deal to make a Nexus S Touch or something later on.
