right heres the scene, imagine I have a system, and in that system I place 12 drives.

Now say I wanted 6 drives to be video files and the other 6 to be audio files, but show up as 1 of each then mirror them

is it possible to setup the first 3 in RAID 0 (strip) so all 3 show up as one drive and same for the second 3, THEN set each block of 6 in RAID 1 (mirror) so it basically looks like 2 huge drives and at the same time all data is mirrored onto the other disks in RAID 1

hope that makes sense, 3 drives as 1 mirrored to another 3

would I need 2 controllers? this is just not adding up for me.

I dont even know if this makes any sense

v2 | | a2 | |

v3 | | a3 | | RAID 0 for vid/aud, use 3 disks as one

v1 | | a1 | |

v2 | | a2 | | RAID 1 mirroring above drives

v3 | | a3 | |

__ | | ___| |

so itll look like 2 disks which are mirrored, kinda thing

may just have to get another controller
