The-Dream - The Love, IV (Diary of a Mad Man)

Atlanta R&B artist Terius Nash aka The-Dream pretty much only makes songs about sex, which might get boring if he weren't so freaking good at it. "Body Work", our first taste of his upcoming album The Love, IV (Diary of a Mad Man), is another deeply horny ode to lovemaking wherein Nash again shows off his gifts for inventive production. Superficially the song recalls some previous Dream cuts-- last year's "Abyss" and and "Put It Down" from 2009's Love vs. Money spring to mind-- but has a heavier, more epic quality to it. As usual, he douses the track in melody, but also cleverly plays with contrast (setting his airy falsetto against buzzsaw synths), timing (drawing out verses so that the chorus payoff is huge), and somehow manages to make five minutes go by like three. And there is, of course, the track's sheer carnal appeal-- it moves so indecently, grinds so thoroughly that Nash's sex talk comes across not just tolerable but almost authoritative.

"Leaked" single:

After a day and a bit of listening to Bodywork/f*ck My Brains Out...

Bodywork = cool.gif

f*ck My Brains Out = mellow.gif... laugh.gifmellow.gif

He's has become quite hit and miss with his material.

If he fails with this album, he needs to put all his energy into Electrik Red and call it a day.
