Everton's Financial Crisis

Carrying on from Ice's post in the matchday thead

Anyone got any inside info on what is actually knowing on, I know they have been broke for last couple years but I didn't think it was anything as bad as has been reported in last couple days.

I don't see how clubs like Blackburn have attracted investment but not Everton they have a good club, good fans and a very good academy and imo a very good manager.

If they were to have a fire sale would you take any one from there club? and how much would you value their main assets at?

Rodwell_1121652.jpg

Two years I would have taken Rodwell but due to injuries and not looking motivated enough has not progressed as much as he should have. Not even sure which top 6 club would take him at the moment and at what price. Should be around 15million if that is what Henderson went for.

Quality defender and would be sick at Arsenal. The english steel they need and in an injury crisis can play across the back also seems to be able to communicate quite well which is what they are missing. Would expect him to go for around 15million also.

If Wenger was smart he would be making moves for this guy would turn out to be a sick signing for them but doubt he has the balls to do this. Has the potential to be one of the best premiership midfielders on his day and is dominant in the air another thing they lack and is technically sick for a guy of his size. Would also go for around the 15mill mark

TBH getting bored of saying this now but another signing that would be sick for Arsenal, Already has a relationship with Jagielka and is one of the best left backs in the league. Reached the signing at Everton and can attack as well as he can defend and also doesn't get injured every other game. Should be up for around 8-10 million.

Coleman, Cahill and Osman would also fetch around 20mil for the 3 of them. And if Zhirkov can fetch 12 mill im sure Billy could go back that for the same price.

Would hate to see Everton go broke always had a soft spot for them. Things could have been so different for them if they had made it into the CL and got that money

Moyes has said not to expect them to finish in the top 10 but assured he is not working for the bank but if he has to sell in the next 10 days he does have a lot of potential capital there but they will really struggle. Two of their best players being injury prone (Arteta and Saha) just makes it even worse for them

What do you expect to happen to them?

Dont think anyone wants to take them over as they need a new ground badly and whoever does take over will need to invest heavily for that

Cahill, Baines and Barkley look good today

Feel bad for Moyes as he aint got the backing and dont look like its coming anytime soon

Would like us to put in a bid for Baines

when you invest you expect a return.

there is no return on everton

there best bet is liverpool get a new stadium in stanley park...they rent the stadium off liverpool

increasing match day revenue without the huge costs of building a new stadium which the council would never allow anyways.

get rid of moyes bring in a tactically astute manager who plays attractive football and spend heavily on the clubs youth and world scouting system... following the good models of sides like wigan, villarreal and porto.

bring in the players in cheap build them up and sell them on for 50%+

might sound terrible

but to sides like sheff Wednesday that sounds great

If Arsene Wenger spent £40m on them 4 players and cleared half their debt, I am sure we'd have a solid squad.

With the exception of maybe feullaini those guys are not starters for top 4 teams. If you want to cement yourselves as 6th place forever go for it. But none of those players would improve the 1st 11 of united, city or Chelsea. And they are who you guys are chasing. You need quality players. Signings like mata make sense now Not jack rodwell.

Baines is one of the best LB's in the League and Jagielka is a good fit for Arsenal, a cheeky bid for Arteta wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Arteta would be a much better buy. I'm not convinced about Baines. He's another crock. Just waiting for his next injury tbh and jagielka just isn't good enough IMO. If they are gonna force the English defender thing cahill and Scott Dann are better.

Cole

Evra

Kolarov

Gibbs

Granted he's good, never one of the best.

Would be better suited to a team like Villa, Spurs or Stoke

Cole>Evra>Baines

Kolarov isn't better than me

Lol at Gibbs

What has Gibbs done to get top 5-6 LB in the league status?

Benoit Incosistant-Ekotto>Gibbs

Anyway, I'd take all of those players.

Rodwell, Feilanni, Baines, Arteta

All quality. Infact if Baines played for a top 4 team i'm pretty certain he'd get called world class

Arsenal shoud just raid Everton like Spurs raided West Ham

What has Gibbs done to show he is even a better left back then Fabio about top 5 thats a clueless comment

Top 5

Evra

Cole

Enrique

Ekotto

Baines

Clueless comment to list Gibbs in top 5, very clueless

Even then he is behind Clicy, Kolorav, Warnock, Figueroa and if Bethrand was to go on loan to QPR/NORWHICH he would be ahead of him in lists aswel

Cant believe the cluelessness of that statement

Not saying he doesn't have potential but at the moment he has done nothing to show he is better then them players

I think the reason he's been pushed is because essentially, on the ball, he's a midfielder & in modern day football, full-backs have the most space on the pitch & are on the ball more & more.

But for what Arsenal NEED defensively, he just isn't there yet so it would make sense to have another LB who fills that gap.

Thats the thing though, all of the above are far better on the ball than him, and far better going forward

Baines - leading assisting defender, leading defensive goalscorer (I think it was 7 goals and 10 or so assists)

Fabio - typical Brazillian wingback

Enrique - excellent technically, great left foot

This isn't something that happens nowadays, especially not with defenders, but it seems he's rated simply because he plays for Arsenal

Surprised nobody has raised his name yet. Would be a massive upgrade on your whole defence bar TV5. Some Everton fans rate him above Jags and say he is good at bringing the ball out which is what they need. Only issue is he is only 5ft 11 so would probably not halt their 4 year ongoing rape in the air. He would also hold much better then Song and would bring a lot of experience for Frimpong to learn off.
