Diaby back in full training

411 posts in this topic

on Diaby’s progress...

It is very good news. He's coming back in full training now so he is 10 days away to be competitive to play. All being well he should be available for the Carling Cup or the game before.

Glad to have him back. Still reckon he is underrated, his injuries have well and truly fucked his potential thus far.

Other team news as follows

on Vermaelen…

He's two weeks away. He is running out on the pitches. He looks alright but we have to respect the progression, you still have to give him two to three weeks to be competitive again.

on Rosicky who picked an injury on international duty…

He's alright, he had a little groin [problem]. He had an adjusted training session today but should be back in full training tomorrow. He will be OK for the weekend.

on other team news…

The uncertainty was Koscielny because he had not played and was away on international duty. He looks alright, he is back. Djourou is back as well.

on Fabianski…

Yes he had a little groin problem but he will be available for Sunday. Basically we have Diaby, Vermaelen, Sagna and Wilshere out – the players who have had surgery - everybody else is available.

on Sagna…

He is down of course because when you are used so much to playing every three days and suddenly you are at home without any movement it is very difficult to take. You have to adjust. He is strong mentally so he will get over that.

I don't think he's underrated, he just hasn't had the chance to show what he can do on a sustained run of games due to Injury.

Diaby has had runs, he's just inconsistent, which isn't than helped by his proness for injury.

For me the biggest thing about him is what a player he might have been, had he not met that hairdresser Dan Smith.

Hopefully he's gotten over his stroke and is now able to use his left foot.

I remember when EVERY arsenal fan in here used to hate this guy.

How times can change in the midst of desperation.

Lucas has always been better than Diaby... Even in his poor days.

And he didnt get ridiculed as much as Diaby did. Swear someone said Eboue should play CM instead of him.

Me & anelka debated the benefits of Diaby starting ahead of Wilshere last season numerous times, notably against Barcelona... What some of you lot say during a game in the matchday thread is irrelevant as its the same as them guys in the stadium who slate man minutes before same man has them jumping around like school girl.

Murks is a good t.roll tho.

tbh last year we did have Cesc and Nasri in our midfield...

But apart from his top performance every 1in5 games, I dont see him improving us that much.

Ramsey is strugging and he too is a 1 in 5, well dunno if he even been that this season... but you get the picture...

Diaby knows all the levels, the team, he keeps the ball - arguably too long and then loses it in blind alleys, but right now I'm seeing man lose the ball within 2 seconds constantly, how could he not improve us.

hmm fair point. Its just that when diaby is bad its a trainwreck. But I think we could do with his drive, the midfield is a bit samey atm

Diaby does get bad press, tis unfair imo.. most Arsenal fans hate him or have lost patience with him

But that fag Dan Smith did him at Sunderland resulting in him picking up knocks and niggles here n there then Wengy has played him DM, CM, RM, LM & behind the striker so hes neva been settled and had a solid run to pick up form

Abou has great quality imo, i mean that goal against Lpool in the champions league

I've always rated Diaby, and those that remember the Joey Barton incident that he stupidly reacted to before getting sent off and contributing to our 4-4 draw would do well to remember he BOSSED that midfield before his lack of discipline kicked in.

He's box to box. Yeah he holds the ball too long sometimes but even with everyone fit, with what we have in our midfield he should STILL be a regular.

Could have killed him after he got sent off against Newcastle

Mixed feelings about the guy, 1st things 1st he needs to stay fit.

Don't rate him. But rite now I'd take anything just to inject some life into this stagnant midfield.
