Finally dancehall producers have started going for the throwback sound. IMO, Jamaica was patterning itself off of the American import sound (always been the case since the 40s and 50s when they'd pick up Florida blues radio, but Jamaica also pioneered their own styles) and as a result, it all got a bit too hip-hop/RnB sounding, rather than being distinct...
