Blackburn's painful season takes a turn for the worse as Dann suffers ruptured testicle

Blackburn Rovers go into the Barclays Premier League relegation showdown against Bolton having suffered a freak injury to key defender Scott Dann.

Rovers boss Steve Kean is fighting to save his job, but Dann, 24, will be out for six weeks after rupturing his right testicle in Saturday’s defeat by West Brom.

Dann was injured as he overstretched to score his first goal for the club. He completed the final 18 minutes of the 2-1 defeat but afterwards complained of discomfort to the club’s medical staff who thought it was slight internal bleeding and sent him home.
