Spanish source El Mundo Deportivo have stated today that Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho will leave the Bernabeu and take over at the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Not only do they proclaim this to be a ‘done deal’ they also go as far as to state that the date for the switch will be June 30th, which is a very exact prediction.

Such a move would be something of a shock, not least as Roberto Mancini is of course still in place at Man City and shows no sign of being axed. However if the Italian fails to secure the Premier League this season then perhaps he will be sacked though such a move could be considered harsh even though the club’s owners have shelled out a huge sum assembling a squad that they may feel should be able to secure major honours.

The source is probably gas but behind the scenes wouldn't be surprised if this happened.

He loves a team with money and just close to success so he can push them over the line and take credit for it.

Go back to that QPR documentary.

Can you really see Mourinho sitting down with Shiekh Mansour and reasoning over a 1-0 loss to Stoke in December.

Roman Ambramovich couldn't handle this guy and had to get rid of him in the end - became the heart and soul of the club, he was the club.

He could do that because Chelsea were nothing, they had nothing.

Real Madrid and history goes deep in the soil - he was never going to succeed at Madrid because of the suppression from the board.

i've said it from the very beginning Mancini would only stay if he won the league at a canter and done better in the Champions League (even though they had a pretty hard group)

by all accounts the journo that reported this is well regarded and well sourced so there's probably some truth in it

will be interesting to see how Mourinho deals with it though, its a tad different from Chelsea who consistently finished in the top 4 before he was appointed, Citeh want to win the league NOW and feel like they should be in the CL season in season out not to mention things like the FA Cup and Carling Cup

but they need a stronger character in there anyways, i always feel like Citeh are only a couple defeats away from imploding from within plus there's way too much dead weight they need rid of - isn't Rocky Santa Cruz still there? smh
