Description

Police are appealing for witnesses after the murder of an 18-year-old man in Waltham Forest.

Officers were called at approximately 04:05hrs on Sunday 19 August to Beaumont Road, E10 following reports of a fight.

Officers, LAS and London's Air Ambulance attended. A man, aged 18, was found suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at 04:50hrs.

While we await formal identification we are confident the deceased is Thomas James Overton (dob 08.07.94), aged 18. Next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

The Homicide and Serious Crime Command investigate.

At this early stage it is believed the fight stemmed from a party in nearby Colchester Road which spilled out into Skeltons Lane and then Beaumont Road.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident as it developed through the three roads mentioned, to contact them at the incident room on 0208 345 3775 or, alternatively, via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

One man, aged 18, has been arrested in connection with this investigation and remains in custody at an east London police station.

Inquiries continue.

If this story is followed up by the media you know this is what the media will come up with but not in such a blatant way.
