Fox and Sky are owned by the same company though aren't they?

Surprised they're not just meging FX into Sky Atlantic to make it a better channel, or perhaps that's overkill.

Comedy Central UK isn't the same company as the American one though. The original content came after CBS (US owner) and Viacom (UK owner) split.

News corp owns like 40% of sky and all of Fox, so I guess they could do something, but i thought Atlantic was to bring shows from premium US channels and original UK shows, with some classic shit thrown in.

Comedy Central is 50/50 owned by Paramount and Sky

sky actually have small stakes in a shit load of channels

HBO has confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks will reunite to produce a third miniseries set during World War II. The pair, who previously collaborated on the acclaimed Band of Brothers and The Pacific, will reportedly use Donald L. Miller's Masters of the Air as their source material, though the series is currently untitled. Miller's book is a narrative non-fiction work about American bombers in the air campaign against Nazi Germany, focusing on the "Mighty Eighth" Air Force. No date is set for when the series will air, but it'll be a big commitment for HBO — Band of Brothers' production budget ran to $125 million, and The Pacific topped that at $200 million.

Great news

Zombieland TV show in the works at Amazon, headed for Instant

zombielandtwinkies620x340pxhedimg.jpg

Before Jesse Eisenberg was known for playing Facebook's quirky founder, he starred with Woody Harrelson in a delightfully campy film called Zombieland. That film is apparently being adapted for the little screen -- well, perhaps not solittle, but littler -- by none other than Amazon Studios, the in-house team created to produce original content on Amazon's Instant streaming service, reportsBroadcast Now. It's not clear just how far along the series is, but io9 did discover some casting pages which reveal the plot: "the show will center around the original group of post apocalyptic survivors." Presumably that means more Twinkie references, more awkward romance, and a ton more comical zombie killing. That is, of course, if the early casting sheets are indicative of what the final show ends up being. Regardless, we've reached out to Amazon for more info, and we've dropped some of the film's best parts just below the break.

this is gonna happen more and more, shows being made or transferred to streaming services instead of TV, already happened with Arrested Development, and Kevin Spacey has one coming out in Feb on Netflix

about time though, TV stations have held too much power in the US and moretime they cancel shit way too quick, this might shake it up

and also Netflix will be releasing all 13 eps of that Spacey show at once, so you can watch them all in one go, which is pretty cool, something id gladly pay for. Arrested Development gonna be the same I think. We'll see how it plays out, think i heard of another show being made for streaming but I cant remember it
