We have a culture where you can't lose face, where people react to "I know you ain't going out like that?" and lose their future in a heartbeat over some trivial shit.

 

I think when you have people who value friends opinions too much and don't have a strong enough opinion on their own you get shit like this happening.

 

 

Parents need to raise stronger individuals still.

Oh seen, I meant from the perspective of having influence over them, especially much younger ones, I don't see some younger cousins that often, like Hank said maybe few times a year.

 

I wouldn't expect such foolishness from my sisters because I know how they have been raised and the way I speak to them about stuff like this.

 

I was super close with a female cousin growing up, only 2 months between us, she has 2 younger sisters who are close with my sisters, I would hope they wouldn't involve themselves in shit like this and it's pretty unlikely but I don't have that level of involvement in their upbringing to completely vouch for them is what I meant.

 

The generation gap between cousins can dictate the relationship, it generally doesn't impact sibling relations as much is what I meant.

so after speaking to the family some things have been cleared to me about the whole thing,

 

to sum things up they boy who died is no angel he was a known bully around that area, he had a arguement with the girl and at the end of it blazed the football in her face, 

 

word got back to her boyfriend so he made his way as he wasnt far away, she ran in the house in anger and grabbed a knife but was held back but people that know her and saw what happened,

 

the "boyfriend" turned up and confronted the boy the two fought and the boy was winning had him on the floor kicking and stamping on him

 

the "boyfriend" got up and tried to get away, the boy presued him and pulled out his own knife and in the struggle the "boyfriend" disarmed him and used it on him,

 

the knife taken by the girl from the kitchen was not the knife used

 

the boy who died was trying to stab the "boyfriend" and was then killed with his own knife

 

all caught on crystal clear CCTV with sound, hence the surprising Manslughter charge and the short trial

 

the "boyfriend" came for a fight but the boy who died produced the knife

 

still heartbreaking but it wernt as straight forward as the DM would make it sound

 

everyone still came out losers
