Been having this discussion with a few football people

Interested to know what the vip2 contingent think

Who is the best

- technically

- tactically

- in possession

who has the most influence on their team

who do you admire the most

and if you could play with one of them, who would it be?

yeah stevie has always had a superb range of passing, infact they all do

I think Gerrard now is more tactically aware, than he was under Rafa

The media used to scream and shout about Gerrard playing in cm as opposed to RW but I remember when Rafa started him there at Ewood park...he left gaping holes in the midfield and then Tugay killed him with two stepovers on the edge of the box which lead to Benni McCarthy scoring

@Philos true say you have been watching championship football for most of your life but tbh there isn't much between the 3

3 totally different players tbh

lampard isnt realy a great central midfielder as his goals gloss over his actually ability in the centre of the park,

a very effective SS/AM tho

bit of a myth thoe really

Lampard has a great engine, brilliant stamina, tactical awareness, can pass, scores goals and creates goals

if that isn't a recipe for a 'great central midfielder' then i don't know what is

I'm saying Gerard , maybe the goals have dried up a little but he really is a jack of all trades .Lamps will get u the goals but defensively he will rarely track back.

But In a deep lying position carrick all day them through balls split defenses like crazy.

They all perform to the best of abilities in diff pos

Gerard Cm

Lamps am/ss

Carrick deep lying play maker

One of the biggest myths ever

"Gerrard carried Liverpool"

I cannot remember any big games he single handedly won for the team

Feel free to name one

/

Lampard I cannot rate as a top midfielder when his biggest asset is goalscoring

Carrick I like but he isn't that guy Clive Tydsley thinks he is

The amount of times I have heard the phrase "Carrick should be dominating this game and if there is one person on this pitch(bear in mind a big European game is going on) who can stamp his authority on a game like this it's Michael Carrick"

The game always seems to pass him by

Gerrard aka superman

He tries to be the hero and his international career is a failure

Everyone has blamed the managers moving him around in the past but

In the last two major tournaments he has played in CM

His legs have gone and is finished

He was chasing shadows@The Euros

The only thing which is saving him the fact he has a dead ball delivery in his locker.

I can't rate pick one over the other out of this three mentioned but if it was Scholes being discussed then it will be a different matter altogether
