Some outrageous statements in here, bun a fire on a classic.
My sunday dinner is rice and peas, chicken, veg, orkshire puddings and mac cheese washed down with Guiness Punch when I can be arsed making it.

To be honest I think some of you are more concerned about keeping it traditional than your own taste buds, I don't eat on a Sunday to be able to say i'm eating a 'Traditional Sunday Lunch'.
Mac n cheese and rice are definitely welcome improvements to a heartwarming meal.
Those who know will tell you it works.

This reminds me of when my friend told me that I can't put gravy on rice.

yeah but then your just having sunday dinner, not a sunday roast.
i could give a fuck if you eat rice and mac n cheese on a sunday, but dont call it a roast dinner

Makes no difference what you wanna call it, we eat it on Sunday and it has the same components as a roast plus more.
Same way my friend covers her's in cheese and ketchup, my Dad add's bacon.
The curry/chinese we eat from the takeaways are rarely traditional but no one cares enough to change the name.

I couldn't believe my ears when I first heard someone in shock of the idea of gravy on rice, the audacity of giving somebody a plate of dry rice.
