Let's look at the most widely used sites for stat analysis and see where they rank Gerrard against other players in the Prem

If we look at passing in isolation we can see that Gerrard is amongst the very highest for key passers in the league (every 21 minutes ) and despite being mr hollywood has a pass completion of 87% which is actually higher than Michael Carrick who is often praised for his ability to recycle possession.

Who scored ranks Gerrard sixth overall based on his overall contribution.

 

 

If we look at offense in isolation he is again ranked sixth overall but if we look at key passes in isolation his average of 2.7 key passes per game is only bettered by Silva, Suarez, Snodgrass and Ozil whilst his total of 6 assists is only bettered by Ramsey, Ozil and Rooney.

 

 

I've said loads of times that I think Gerrard is now at a point where he shouldn't be an automatic starter for every game but anyone who thinks he doesn't have something to contribute is obviously deeply entrenched in their opinion for some reasons other than what is happening on the pitch.
