ok fair enough

if you get a 125cc moped u will be able to do at least 70mph in fact even if u get a 50cc and derestrict it you will probably get about 45mph.

Unless you wanna be travelling City to city (motorway) a 125 will do you good.

CBT can be completed in a day for around £100 and you're good to go. as said a decent 125 will get you to 70mph.

its a good entry point for you to decide whether you want something bigger next.

Funny how a couple years ago I made a thread about getting a Gilera Runner and I was convinced (wisely) to get a 125, never looked back (except during lifesavers).

Now it's the opposite though sole is a troll.

Innit

Rev to around 3000?, close throttle, clutch in, gently click up.

Not rocket science.

One of the funnest things is perfecting that gear switch tekkers.

Whats your budget? whats the best price you've seen one going for?

Looking at either this or a Honda CBR. The Yamaha kills it for looks though

Nothing but it's his first bike

I would recommend getting a ped to start with especially if all u want is a 125 plus an RS or something like that is gonna cost more as well.

Aprilias are a different story cos they're 2 stroke. Quicker bikes but they're buggy. As said before you can do a cbr and be over the gears hurdle in a single day. Second hand r125s go for cheap.

I'm dropping around 2k for something like a 2010 with 8k miles

I was originally looking at CBR's and took my cbt on a cbf today which is meant to be very similar but the YZR blows it out of the water looks wise.

Bear in mind I was told the YZR is the most stolen bike in the UK so your insurance will be more

All in I'm gonna be spending 2.5k on bike and insurance bit I'm confident saying if you went for a cbr you could do it for 1.5k

YZR is the most expensive 125 easily I wouldn't say it's cheap

Used from a dealer or off Gumtree etc?

I'd just get a ped. 4 stroke 125 motorbikes are lame.

Unless you're using it as a stepping stone to a bigger bike of course

Gumtree, brand new they're 4.5k although there's a nice 3 year finance deal from yamaha if you're that way inclined

100 deposit and 110 a month for 3 years I think it is
