its a form of skill to dribble then find a trailing leg
especially when its done with speed like robbens yday
world class stuff.

robben could've gone down plenty of times and that was one of the lesser offenders, some knocks some bareface sweeps as well, as it stands there was contact and whether he was right to go down contact is all that matters
as far as diving goes its a part of the sport. some need to allow it (ashley young with his springboard tekkers) but drawing the foul is a skill and not suttin limited to the foreign game (ashley young)

Have no sympathy for any defender who sticks their foot in when it ain't a shot at goal they are defending.
Retarded defending, an attacker who dives is trying to get an advantage in the game, with the worth of football today it's an inevitable by product unfortunately, not a major problem though imo.

From refs want to act like football is a no contact sport now days.
Nothing wrong with diving at all imo.

I admire things in football I can't do.
Diving is one of those things. It's a beauty when done correctly. Saying that, I dislike the acting injured bit or adding extra theatrical moves.

Nearly made a thread on this myself
Mad annoying how they keep banging on about this. Swear were the only nation that pays it any sort of attention even though all our golden boys dive regularly

I can see why a lot of the older english players are so against diving. In their day the game over here was far more physical and rolling around like a fag was a sign of weakness and geneerally frowned upon.

If youre good enough to not get caught, good on you.
In my eyes it's no different to campaigning for a corner or throw that came off you.

Funny thing is nobody has been booked for diving so far.

Would probs never happen, but what would be sick is if we had a system in place where each side can question 3 of the refs decisions per game and then it goes over to an official who watches the game somewhere else on a monitor screen. A bit like on tennis where if you feel an umpire wrongly called your ball out you can get em to check di hawk eye. Would make things much fairer.

Only if move like what Joey Barton done to Geronimo (Gervinho) after he dived is allowed (the grips up).
