Interview with Ellar Coltrane who plays Mason, there are some very minor spoilers involved but it's more about the creative process and him reflecting on the film. He didn't watch any of the filmed footage up until it was done.

I'll second that and say it was a utterly fantastic film, and truly unique. Which you can't really say about most films nowadays. But if you're one of those ADD types you'll probably find it boring. I would highly suggest you see it at a cinema, less distractions and the film will really take you in.
As Flojo said don't go in expecting some crazy plot. The wonder here is seeing someone age before your eyes and gain experiences as he grows out boyhood. I love the time capsule feel of the film, seeing the technology slowly changing as the years go by.
I'll also say it's also his sister (in the movie) film as well as we see her grow with him. As the film ends you just take in this journey you've taken with these characters.
Just made me feel pretty emotional leaving the cinema. Moreso about my own boyhood.

Even though I'm a fair bit older than his character the references to the different time periods throughout the film really hit me, Game Boy to Xbox to Digital SLRs.
Cosign feeling emotional on leaving the cinema, it had me in a very reflective mood for a while.

Ethan Hawke redeemed after The Purge.
Really well casted and acted.
Loads of life lessons, loads of reasons to relate to it, by making the characters so down to earth.
Makes You reflect on how many people You've encountered in Your life that are just... in the past now.
Didn't like the mum and the situations she put the kids in. She was defo a MILF though.
Was so annoying to hear people afterwards saying "that went on for ages" etc.
Reminds me that the audience still want car chases and superheroes, and a film that doesn't make them think.
College chick was a Lily Collins esque spice.
