44 posts in this topic

He was never given a fair crack by any of the managers during his era. His tekk was on a next level

Sometimes it depends on who is in front of you.

Think about the midfield in that same era.

when i was a young boy le tiss was this myth that used to get slated in the papers and pre games on sky... think it might of been souness times

youd watch him play and he was so many levels ahead of the rest it was a joke

Before lifting the world cup in 2010

In an interview with The Sun the 30-year-old Spanish midfielder revealed childhood inspiration from a somewhat surprising source:

"The man I absolutely loved watching as a kid was Matt Le Tissier after seeing the highlights of his extraordinary goals.

"His talent was out of the norm. He could dribble past seven or eight players but without speed - he just walked past them. For me he was sensational.

"We had a programme on Spanish TV with the best goals from around Europe. He was always the star.

"I was ten or even younger. He was definitely an idol."

Sheringham was good but for Euro 96 Tiss just behind Shearer would have been peak and 98 it was a 3-5-2 deffo should been a spot for him

looking at his stats from midfield 161 goals in 444 games not to shabby

and he only missed one pen and I'm sure Mark Crossley saved it

Glen Hoddle always bigs up Lallana wen he a pundit on ITV but he never selected Le Tissier for 98 world cup. Tiss was on another level compared to Lallana
