what's the appeal of f1?

I wasn't interested at all until I went to a race. I had the same pre conceptions as you

The thrill for me is knowing the speeds that they're racing at...the risk & the decisions they have to make, all whilst under so much physical strain

That + the glitz and glamour element + the adrenaline in the air make it exciting to watch

Also, the machinery and equipment they use/maintain appeals to my inner child

Most boys grow up with an inherent interest in cars and the mechanics of right?

Most boys enjoy high octane activities like go karting, quad biking etc right?

F1 is all of that on steroids for me

I prob couldn't get into f1 now

But early 90s when I was a yute

Big bright cars going around fast overtaking each other and risking death to win

That was the appeal

Used to vcr every race on the Sunday before football and watch it when I got in

But every season they bring in a stupid rule to make it less appealing

The technology and speed is guess for most people now
