Final ep was good considering there is no definite answers

thought the other killer section is stretching seeing as there doesnt seem to be a link to jay... but 'the big picture' = reasonable doubt

hopefully there will be some kind of re-cap when the appeal gets underway and the dna results come thru

I thought by big picture she meant it more as its a means to an end. While it's unlikely they will find that specific guys DNA they might find something else that acquits adnan. That guy was just the the key to testing the samples.

The Maryland court of special appeals issued an order on Monday remanding the case of Adnan Syed, whose story was the centrepiece of the Serial podcast and who is serving a life sentence for the murder of his former high school girlfriend Hae Min Lee, to a lower court so the testimony of the witness who was never interviewed can be added to the record.

The witness, Asia McClain, said in an affidavit that she was in a library with Syed when Lee was killed.

http://undisclosed-podcast.com/

The Undisclosed Podcast is a listening experience that reframes, enhances or otherwise shifts everything you've come to know about the State of Maryland's case against Adnan Syed, especially as you've come to know it through listening to Serial. In order to do that, we intend to revisit the case from the beginning, looking at all the available evidence. Not only will we look at the evidence that was presented in Serial, but we will also provide new evidence that we've uncovered in our investigation. We have combed through police and court records that the Serial team did not possess during the podcast, and done much, much more to get to the truth. Accordingly, we aspire to present the best possible version of the events as we believe those events to be. We will also present theories that we believe the evidence best construes. Perhaps most importantly, we will provide you with all of our evidence as part of that process.

We want our listeners to know that this podcast will not give you purely pro-Adnan information or intentionally slant it in his favor. We will present a smart, nuanced legal argument based on the totality of the facts in the case. As attorneys, we pride ourselves on looking dispassionately at facts, analyzing those facts, and applying the appropriate law in our analysis. Our coverage of Adnan's case on our blogs has taken this tack, and we aim to continue our assessments in this new medium. We promise you, our listeners, that our goal in this podcast is not to exonerate Adnan. Our goal is to get to the truth of what happened on January 13, 1999, and we believe that the best way to do so is to analyze all of the available information to come to an informed conclusion. That's what this podcast is all about.

On ep 3 part II

This shit is deep!!

I wouldnt take that undisclosed one too serious, overly bias as its by that rabia chick. They purposely mislead the listener and leave theories open when they are in Adnans favour.

Yeah good point but I think the point they are making is that Adnan's trial had discrepancies. The two lead investigators basically spoon fed Jay and Gutierrez wasn't on the ball at all.

The tapping during the interview was the biggest discovery from this podcast so far.

Hit podcast Serial to become TV series

Journalist Sarah Koenig (L) recorded most of the first series in her basement

Popular true crime podcast Serial is set to become a cable TV series.

The Lego Movie creators Chris Miller and Phil Lord and Fox 21 TV Studios have optioned the rights to the podcast, reports Deadline.

They are developing a series which will chronicle the making of the podcast as it follows a new case.

The first series, a spin-off of NPR's This American Life, followed the murder of Hae Min Lee and the ex-boyfriend jailed for her death.

It became a cultural phenomenon, topping the iTunes chart for several weeks and picking up a Peabody Award.

Co-created and co-produced by Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder, and hosted by Koenig, they will both act as executive producers on the forthcoming TV show.

"Chris (Miller) and Phil (Lord) take an unexpected approach to telling stories and that is so appealing to us at Serial," Snyder said.

"They experiment. They don't mimic formulas. Developing a show with them is exciting because we feel like we speak the same language, only they're smarter than us."

Miller (L) and Lord ® directed Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street and its sequel 22 Jump Street

"From the very first week of Serial's release last fall, everyone at Fox 21 TVS was obsessed with the podcast," explained Fox 21 TV Studios president Bert Salke.

"One year later, thanks to the incredible passion of Chris and Phil, who flew to New York and shared their vision with Sarah, Julie (Snyder), Alissa (Shipp) and Ira (Glass) for what the series could be, we're moving forward on this exciting project...we are confident we'll attract a spectacular writer and look forward to pitching it to outlets very soon."

The Serial podcast has been commissioned for two more seasons.

Series two will concentrate on the story of captured US Army officer Bowe Bergdahl, and will air in the autumn.

Lord and Miller have also signed on to direct the Han Solo Star Wars movie, which is set for release in May 2018.

It has been just over 13 months since the premiere of Serial and there's huge news concerning the hit podcast's subject, Adnan Syed, who today had his case re-opened by a Baltimore Circuit Court judge, the Baltimore Sun reports.

That means Syed will return to court for a post-conviction hearing where his lawyer's can present new evidence in the hopes that he'll eventually be granted a new trial.

Among that new evidence will be an alibi witness for Syed, as well as evidence calling into question the accuracy of cell phone tower data that was used to help place him near the body and convict him of first degree murder—two topics that will be very familiar to listeners of Serial.

Syed, now 35, is serving a life sentence for the murder of his high school girlfriend, Hae Min Lee, who was killed back in 1999.

Serial, which went on to become the most-listened-to podcast of all time, didn't take a side in the case, but did explore evidence that could have helped Syed during his original trial, such as Asia, a classmate who said she saw him in the public library at the time he supposedly murdered Hae. It's not clear why Syed's defense lawyer didn't use Asia's testimony at trial.

A lawyer for Syed broke the news that Syed's motion to re-open the case had been granted on Twitter:

It's still not clear when the new hearing will actually take place.

Enjoyed the first ep, would have no real interest in this subject normally but the way they have tee'd it up to ask 'what really happened?' is too sick. Intrigued already to how this is gonna play out.
