4K TV's. Anyone taken the leap?

7 posts in this topic

Went for a 49in 4k 3d smart bravia to replace my old (not even full HD) Samsung. At the same time I thought I would get netflix again given they are the only ones that have any content in 4k.

Picture is staggering.

Anyone else taken the 4k leap yet?

If I didn't already have a 50" Full HD TV then I would have done what you did, but I don't see the point as there's only a few sources of 4K content.

It's a bit like when HD TVs first came out and there was hardly any content in HD or when 3D TVs got released and apart from Blu Rays or Sky 3D you were stuck.

Think I'll wait a while but I guess the infrastructure gotta catch up first e.g. Channels in 4K, streaming in 4K and better broadband so you can use it hitch free.

but saying all that 4K stuff does look nice

Only 4k content I have come across is Netflix (breaking bad, house of cards, Marco polo). That being said my TV upscale everythibg to 4k and looks that little bit better compared to normal full HD. I can see a slight difference. But not major when watching normal had content.
