District 9 was so good that I am willing to ignore how utterly shit Elysium (which I saw purely because of D9) was and give Blomkamp another go

Film was special. Easily an 8/9 out of 10.

 

So much of this film was hidden from the trailer, a lot more to it.

 

The development of the AI/growth of it as a character was really well done, reminded me of John Henry from Terminator

 

Yolande (the chick Chappie calls mummy) >>>> real ride or die chick

went out like a real G!!! the slow motion, silence and the way the bullets passed through her, ratings

The opposition robot was cool too

 

For me the best parts were

carjackings by a robot. funny as hell, and he fully thought he was doing the right thing when he did it

and

the fight between Chappie and Hugh Jackman. When he threw the spanner, real life lols

Good action, good plot

Huge fan of D9, but was incredibly dissapointed by Elysium. Not sure wether to bother with this
