I would say most of the 'silent majority' of the UK are tory leaning. And voted accordingly. Of course most will never admit to doing so.
I reckon Labour saying they wouldn't make a deal with anyone may have harmed them.
They were saying before about uncertainty had brought down the value of the pound. And a vote for Labour is an uncertain one if they're saying they're not making deals and they're going to try run parliament with a minority.
