Russian Plane Crash

They violated the airspace, thats what happens. Russia would do the same thing if Turkish fighter jets entered their border uninvited, and we would do the same.

Russia plays those deadly border games daily, I swear they have a submarine off the coast of Scotland as we speak that we're employing the French Military to hunt. Ridiculous shit.

But turkey have also made air strikes against Kurdish forces fighting ISIS.

Basically, turkey prefer ISIS over a potential Kurdish state on their border

Ally to the west for what ?

Turkey been bombing kurds since before you even knew what the west was...

Britain and france are to blame for the kurds plight, gave everyone a chunk of the ottoman empire but the kurds who were one of the biggest ethnic groups because they had nothing to offer the west.

Putin warns Turkey of “significant consequences”.

Speaking ahead of his meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan in Sochi, the Russian leader said:

This event is beyond the normal framework of fighting against terrorism. Of course our military is doing heroic work against terrorism... But the loss today is a stab in the back, carried out by the accomplices of terrorists. I can’t describe it in any other way. Our aircraft was downed over the territory of Syria, using air-to-air missile from a Turkish F-16. It fell on the Syrian territory 4km from Turkey.

Neither our pilots nor our jet threatened the territory of Turkey. This is obvious. They are fighting terrorists in the northern areas around Latakia, where militants are located, mainly people who originated in Russia, and they were pursuing their direct duty, to make sure these people do not return to Russia. These are people who are clearly international terrorists.

Taking into account that we signed an agreement on deconflicting with the US, and as we know Turkey was among the ones that has joined the US coalition. Since Isis has such huge resources of hundreds of millions and billions of dollars coming from illicit oil sales, and they are protected by the armed forces of other states, then it’s clear why they are so brazen, why they are killing people, why they are carrying out terrorist attacks throughout the world including in the heart of Europe.

We will analyse everything, and today’s tragic event will have significant consequences, including for Russia-Turkish relations. We have always treated Turkey as a friendly state. I don’t know who was interested in what happened today, certainly not us. And instead of immediately getting in contact with us, as far as we know, the Turkish side immediately turned to their partners from Nato to discuss this incident, as if we shot down their plane and not they ours.

Well there not actually taking the fight to the islamic state just defending there areas/people... actually different kurdish groups are at a long standing war vs each other as well as being at war with turkey the whole isis thing is a big uneeded distraction for them.

Gnna be jokes to see the fall out in a few years when the uk government tricks the people into backing another war in the middle east they have no real businesses getting involved in....

Back to the crash, great wording from putin... Hes played western media/people great since the whole ukraine thing

I'm looking from a Western point of view ( Not Governmental ) and as far as arming people goes and helping them out the Kurds look like the only one's worth doing it for who ain't gonna turn around and bite you back some day. All this Free Syrian Army etc, not backing them at all.

Just seen the Analysis of where the crash was meant to have happened etc and it's looking like the Turks didn't follow protocol.

True, i cant believe all of them, however, isnt it true that the turks fighting "isis".. are actually fighting assad as well, and are a terrorist unit according to the same US now backing them... Russia has a right to attack them because they are also fighting assad who as a legitimate president asked for Russia's help.. Russia has clearly stated why they are in Syria... everyone else has more than one agenda.

Both pilots in a Russian jet shot down by Turkey died after being fired on by Syrian rebels, a commander has said.

‘Both of the pilots were retrieved dead. Our comrades opened fire into the air and they died in the air,’ Alpaslan Celik, a deputy commander in a Syrian Turkmen brigade said near the Syrian village of Yamadi as he held what he said was a piece of a pilot’s parachute.

Jahed Ahmad, of the 10th Brigade in the Coast, earlier said the plane’s two Russian crew members tried to land in their parachutes in Syrian government-held areas after they ejected, but came under fire from members of his group.

The group released a video showing gunmen standing around a blond pilot who had bruises on his face and appeared dead.

It’s a tough day for Moscow. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports that Syrian fighters destroyed a Russian helicopter with a missile, shortly after they forced it to make an emergency landing in a nearby government-held area in Syria’s Latakia province.

A Syrian insurgent group, which receives US Tow missiles, said its fighters hit the helicopter with an anti-tank missile while it was in the air and put out a video showing the helicopter being blown up after one of its fighters struck it with another missile.

Rami Abdulrahman from the Observatory said at least 10 people were on the helicopter when it was hit but they were all evacuated when it landed and before the missile destroyed it.
