Exactly.

He hardly breaks up play, nor is he outstandingly athletic.

Postionally he seems very capable of sitting back. but he also tends to sit inside a full back rather than centrally.

Plus he likes to take the ball on the half turn, which is great but in the Prem if he doesn't know everything around him quickly, he will get caught slipping.

Against France he looked like when England try to play Wilshere at DM, albeit way better suited.

Yeah clocked him sitting inside Rodriguez A LOT.

Most of his bookings are probably reactions after he's been caught slipping.
