Mass Stabbing in Central London

A knife attack has left a woman dead and five other people injured in central London, with police saying mental illness and the possibility of a terror motive were being investigated after a suspect was detained at the scene.

Officers fired an electric stun gun as they arrested the 19-year-old man. Police had been called to the incident in Russell Square near the British Museum just after 10.30pm on Wednesday. The suspect was taken to hospital where he remained in police custody.

Police said mental health seemed to be a “significant” factor in the incident.

But Scotland Yard said that for “reassurance and safety” Londoners would see extra officers, including armed police, deployed on the city’s streets on Thursday morning.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after he stabbed six people in Russell Square at around 10.30pm last night. One witness called him 'dark-skinned' or African, another white and 'chubby'

Could go either way

Most likely black unfortunately

People are jittery after the attacks in Europe so any incident will immediately be looked at as a 'terror attack'.

Sadly a lot of mental health places are shut or have had their funding slashed to the bone and people who shouldn't really be wandering around are.
