Name a top 10 greatest ever purely based on the technical aspects of rap?

15 posts in this topic

Forget albums, songs, who's music u like, sales, success, who's your fave to listen to. Just based on the technical aspects of rap punchlines, double entendres, complexity in rhymes, multi syllables, word play, flow, metaphors, double time rhyming, similies, rhyme schemes, delivery, freestyles

1. Jay Z

2. Nas

3. Busta Rhymes

4. Canibus

5. Big Pun

6. Andre 3000

7. Inspectah Deck

8. Rakim

9. Lupe Fiasco

10. AZ

Not that many metaphor rappers in the list imo.

In terms of Double timing  Its Jay, then Busta. I don't remember any of the rest double time spitting. Maybe Pun but, that's it. Looks like you have listed rappers based on their unique attributes then asked who is better over all.  WILD.

Nope this is where I can agree with him being overrated by those who think he is 1 of the best technically. As a song writer and artist he is my fave but i don't like any of his so called technical style of songs they don't sound good to me at all. I may not like technical rap but i can be objective and say with Jay Z, Nas, Rakim or a Kool G Rap it sounds good if u were to like the kinda technical rap they do. I can't think of a song like that i like from Eminem

Slick Rick and Luda is a fair shout but the rest no way are amongst the best technically

Why are some of u man on here so desperate to control my opinion, views and taste in certain things? let an opinion be an opinion why is that concept so difficult to get if u think he is top 10 technically u are free to put him in you list i'm not stopping u. He's number 1 on my overall list as far as song writing and music

Also @Thizz most Eminem fans don't give a damn about any of his lyrical aspects. U never see majority of his fans tweet about liking his word play or metaphors or multi's or punchlines. They majority always tweet about liking him because of his emotion, choruses, singing, relating to his songs, catchiness of his songs, basically for his song writing and artistry. They like him as a song maker. So aside from me personally not thinking he is top top 10 or top 20 lyrically and there being many better lyricists  that's my opinion. If most your own fan base could give 2 shits about any lyrical aspect of your music then for that objective reason I can't put him in the list even if I did think he was 1 of the best lyrically

So @Mame Biram Diouf think before u speak
