Nah The downfall is down to trolls(that have been banned but will be back later to kill threads with back and forths) and the misuse of the some news, random picture and video threads. Some news = This should be for small stories like for example a dog saving it's puppies from a burning building. Interesting story but not something that will start a 10+ page discussion. But people dump thread worthy stories in there. Random picture thread = Was good when it first started and was a good place to put funny pics and gifs from Facebook, twitter, tumblr etc. But then guys carried away and started putting newspaper articles, videos, tweets etc. I remember when the thread first started there was a rule that couldn't make a post without a picture and now there's dead back and forths lasting a few pages. Video thread = Said it before and I'll say it again, ban music videos from this thread. It's killing the music rooms(especially when an artist has a 50+ page thread in the hip hop room but people are posting their newest video in the video thread) and it's long having to scroll pass a bunch of dead UK rappers that Chaps looks up to just to watch an interesting video. It's a thread that's needed for random videos like one I saw the other day of a dog and his owner doing squats and anything thread worthy can be moved by mods but hopefully this won't be necessary when people finally realise that the start new topic button is their friend. / Bring back the Jail room for the users that are currently banned if they are brought back. If the same people wanna derail threads with their nonsense or break rules just dash them in there for a few days.

Some of that is a bit pie in the sky, there is bound to be benefits to the system microsoft were suggesting but simple matter of the fact is that this whole thing is powered by capitalism: they got to get every last penny out of your pocket they can. At the end of the day you just have to mod better. Yeah, that's a criticism. The picture thread stopped working when people abused the nsfw rule but instead of promptly disabling the link and warning said user, it was left until a bunch of us complained and the solution was to lock and archive . Same goes for a derailed discussion, it happens sometimes, but the solution is to mark selected posts and send them to new thread with a relevant title. Rather that let it go on for so long that an any conversation goes precedent is set. Also, the room structure can be better accommodating to discussion. For example: If the 'Some news' thread was actually a sub-room, each article could command it's own thread and allow for more discussion. The way it is now, a discussion on an article gets cut when a new story is posted. The same applied to the Manchester United thread in the sports room, there was far too much to discuss than the linear layout of one thread could handle. So I asked for a sub-room and the ting got locked and archived . Seems like the admin lot are doing a job with the activations and new user control malark (I wonder how much of that there really is to do though). But what are the rest of the mods really doing? ?

Got the money back form one of them like a day or two after I got into the argument with them, which annoyed me a bit more especially as when I argued with them they were like it's nothing, I'll get the money to you. The other one I didn't because he ended up in prison a little after that. I wrote it off and we spoke and them man apologised for taking the piss. These are guys I grew up from like 12 with so I was happy I could move forward. I think it was a thing where they took my kindness for weakness in all honesty which is sad because for me keeping to my word holds precedence over everything. If I borrow money first thing I'm planning is how and when I am paying them back and it is as important to me as paying rent.
