  1. The usual comments. “Why are you so quiet?” ”You hardly ever speak. Are you angry at us?” ”You’re not being a team player.” ”You have an attitude problem.” You can’t be black and quiet in an all white/ non black environment. Again, they feel threatened if you’re not Buck dancing or acting a fool. Of course I crack jokes with my black colleagues but then we’re seen as being “clique-y.” Then of course there’s the usual sly racist comments. But if you bite, you’re the angry black guy and they’re the naive Culturally ignorant white Woman. What’s funny is that Asians (and other groups) will speak in their own language around you and no one pulls them up on that shit, which is rude as fuck. But it’s a problem when we meet up for lunch or talk with each other. Again, I don’t expect them to promote black people into senior roles. They might put the token one in, in order to seem progressive but if you look at most companies, their “diversity” is at a lower level. Look at most FTSE 100 companies and their directors/CEOs are all homogeneously white. Yet they want to claim “diversity” and “equal opportunities.” Thats why it comes to hiring minorities, they’ll hire on this level of hierarchy (from least threatening to most): Non-British White women. Asian women. Asian men. Black women. Black men. And usually (from experience) the black woman they’ll promote is some self hating mammy, put their to keep us negros in check. There’s levels to this but I don’t want to derrrail this thread. Maybe I’ll start a new one. You know the usual suspects will deflect from this even though every black person working in these environments know this is gospel. Like I said, there’s no point complaining, we need to build our own companies because they’re never gonna see us as equal.

  5. work rage is a mad ting, i've experienced it once and proper lost it. what saved me was i didn't touch the bitch man just dashed chairs and tables about but she try tell senior management & police that i slapped and punched her lucky for me there was cctv this bitch never liked me from day dot, she was my manager & tried hard to get rid of me by doing bare fucked up shit like doing the rota. she would ask everyone else what they wanted then just give me the left overs, others would always have certain days off but when i ask for them it's no, she'd leave me out of department meetings then when i ask she'd say oh sorry, i thought i told you. she would always tell me to do jobs that i either wasn't supposed to do or hadn't been taught how to do then when i don't do it or don't it properly she'd e-mail me stating all the wrongs i've done and cc supervisor & colleagues lots of other things but what got to me was one day i turned up to work, said hello to everyone but nobody said shit, next minute i was bombarded with work which apparently i hadn't done so now the department was due for a audit. my instincts told me something ain't right so between breaks & lunch i left my mobile in the office and left it recording and boom. caught manager & 4 others planning how they were going to blame everything on me and get me sacked, they called me all sorts of names and what made me loose it was my girl said "...he submitted a holiday form in coz he wanted to spend time with his soon to be dead uncle, i am going to deny it and said you mark already booked a holiday, cath and jenny are on a course" and you can hear all them laughing & giggling when i heard it, i came out of the toilets and mark & her were in the staff room so i confronted them, they denied it and that's when pure rage came out investigation took place by hr, i submitted all the madness they'd been doing over the course of 2 years and her and mark lost their jobs, mark used to make racist jokes under the term of "banter" the others got final warnings

  14. complete truth!!! my elders used to tell me the same thing but until i started working and experiencing them first hand i was like nah, it can't be that bad a certain london council tried to do my aunt dirty with a constructive dismissal something... but like others said, she had documented most of the serious things that had taken place before she was finance director, in other words they sacked her for doing something she didn't and at the same time promoted the same person that did, the fucked thing was most of the senior management knew it wasn't my aunt.

  15. Always document your incidents at work in a diary and record audio as back up when you can. Personally, can't be dealing with all the back and forth via HR drama. On top of office politics. That's why I chose to contract for a while. If I see any sign of consistent patterns, I will bounce. I work in a sector where I can line-up a new position within a week so I don't hang around .

  19. Respect. I’ve been in similar situations at work. You’ve just got to keep your cool and record/document all their fuckery. It’s tough being a black man in the corporate world. It’s tough for black Women too but we’re considered more of threat. The amount of passive aggressive shit we have to deal with from them is despicable. And then it’s the blatant discrimination when it comes to promotion and pay. Thst’s why outside of work I don’t associate with them. Unless you brown nose or tap dance for them like their token negro, you’re not getting that promotion. Best to work and network with other black people and start your own business. Everyone else does it, I wish more of us would take the initiative.

  24. Bump Ice you weren’t lying bro this club business is hard work. I got family members in Kin (short for Kinshasa the capital of DR Congo) to lay down some foundations before my arrival e.g. have an agreement with a club in place. I sent them a dossier of how I want the club to operate (it blew people away they couldn't believe the creative brain behind it) I acquired a club in DR Congo a few weeks ago it's League Two equivalent. (my aim was never to care about being a league or not just needed a club, so I can conduct business, but I was told the club cannot be inactive if they’re then my players automatically become owned by the FA) The takeover process was full of drama due to the secretary stealing funds from his owner and going on the run (the owner who I acquired the club from) so that delayed the paperwork. He finally gave himself up after 24 hours (Imagine I was going to keep him on and pay him a salary) but lucky for him my soldiers (I have two uncles who are a colonel and a major respectively, so it made sense them to appoint them as board members) arrived a split second late. These the things I had to do 1. Get the right to participate 2. Get documents that my club exist 3. Appoint board members and committee members (it consists of Colonel, Major, Pastor, Head of Immigration not going to lie I was tempted to put Army Club as the nickname) 4. Get a license number (It's needed for transfers and it's a way for other clubs to recognize that my club exist) 5. Charm offence the league's president and secretary so they can speed the paperwork up (they approve it then FECOFA (Congo FA), CAF (African Federation), FIFA (World governing body). The club's first team coach I was thinking of sacking him so many times because he wasn't understanding the club's philosophy but that all changed when we visited The National Stadium HQ where everyone knew him, so I realized this guy is important, but I must keep trying to change his mindset which has finally happened. 6. Poached a League One Coach and gave him the role of Sporting Director (funny story how this came about. Where I was staying I was introduced to a footballer by my driver who told him I am on the verge of accruing a club. I sold him my vision he was tempted straightaway, but he said I had to buy his license from his current coach for $400 I laughed at that price. So, the footballer set up a meeting between me and his coach to discuss a possible transfer. Fast Forward the meeting I welcomed him spoke briefly then I got my USB put into my laptop he read the version of my club philosophy in French he got it straightaway and he fully understood the club's philosophy besides he knows his football then I asked him for the footballer's price he wouldn't budge so I thought let me kill two birds with one stone so I asked about his current job which he told me his role and he felt undervalued and not appreciated that’s when I offered the Sporting Director role which he accepted). 7. Set up an assembly for my committee members and league officials can meet so they can witness also verify my club exist (make sure they have enough food and drinks also transport to get to the assembly and return home safely) 8. Get licenses for my footballers(20 of them so far 17 in DR Congo and 3 here in England) so this is how it works you put them through a centre which checks on their medical condition and then you pay for the licenses without these the players cannot play so after that is done contracts are drawn up with the duration, incentivies (the footballers won't get a good salary only win and promotion bonuses but the biggest incentive is Europe also if they get promoted every club member will get an iPhone) When I acquired the club I got ten footballers part of the deal. The footballers based in Europe will go to European Clubs(So I should be getting that contracts sent to me by this week) but the ones based in Congo will go Tunisia first so it can get them ready for Europe so there is no culture shock but saying this Slovakia is Schengen .The best players@my club who are based in Congo will now have the option to go on loan to a Championship team(bigger expsoure, television crew@Stadium) due to my cousin and another uncle being friends with the owner of this said club. 9. Purchase training attire, away kits, balls, bibs, cones, hurdles, polo tops (for the long list of females I met out there they want to promote and support my club), camera, minibus, clothes, boots, trainers, laptops for staff members especially the coach and sporting director. also get the club a training spot in a local school which was built by the Chinese (hopefully this puts me in contact with the right people when it comes to building my academy and training ground). 10. Now I need to read through the price list (fines, subs) 11. Speaking of promotion on my net trip which is in a few weeks’ time I should be going on the radio and television promoting club business (my brother in law is the connect). 12. Everyone now calls me Prezzo (short for President) What have I learned? I am very lucky to be in Europe (hot water, reliable electricity) You need transport (That's why I must get two mini bus for the staff, players, board members to get to training, matches, meetings) to do anything in Congo also a reliable driver (I had 5 and none of them were punctual) 98848949040020992339 footballers I need to be patient with this project (I should leave the staff to their own devices but step in occasionally and focus on the European based footballers based) I need more European based footballers (Footballers not athletes) Ways of recruitment Non-league football School football Open trials in Victoria Park Hearsay Final note not going to lie I wish I jumped on this August 5th, 2014 I want to produce several Mbappes (Easily the best footballer on this planet by a country mile nobody comes to close not even your favorites Messi, Cristiano e Neymar) for 2022 and beyond for the national team.
