Hi guys apologies for the slowness and issues experienced with the site. The latest update is: It appears that our posts weren't fully rebuilt. IPS believe additional fixes related to posts not fully rebuilding were included with 4.1.10 that weren't hotfixed on our site, so they have restarted the task to let it pick up where it left off. I'll let you know once the task is completed but may I please ask to hold off reporting issues with the posts until task has completed. With regards to the slow website, I would appreciate time stamps of when it occurred, if it was across the whole website or just a particular part and also what was slow. I'm roughly aware of the activity stream being slow but if you could share as much details as possible would be helpful to troubleshoot. Thanks

Can you change to the White theme and then check those posts again? Let's try to rule out it being a theme thing.

All background processes are complete. Can people just check peformance/posts and see what's still an issue and report back please?

Two types of rebuilds ended up having to take place. The 1st one didn't fix all the posts and people were still complaining of messed up quotes. So another re-run from the beginning of time of this forum is now being run. Currently at 59% of the total amount of user's posts rebuilt. Is it the option not there completely?

Unfortunately it's not an easy process if you consider the fact there is well over 3Mil posts on here. So option is lock off the board until complete or wait it out with the slowness. Last I checked it was past 20% on the posts rebuild.

There's currently another post rebuild going on to fix quotes so the website may be slow for this period.

Changed up the method of the background processes and this seems to be flying past them now. A lot of the missing pieces of the puzzle should be there now or there abouts. If you only knew.... Basically Nail <-> Head

Have fixed the ones I found in H&G, I left a comment on the other chatter of how I fixed. Like I said before, this update was to make your stay here enjoyable With regards to the direct upload, I can't deal with another court case where the source is uploaded directly onto our server, so sadly this had to be disabled. Back to imgur or tinypic we go. Might review at a later stage.

There's a difference between fine (not knowing any difference) and a massive improvement (which is where I would classify ourselves at being at) the Internet world has moved on for mobile responsiveness as a key driver due to how we surf the web now a days and in all fairness this is a massive improvement towards that alongside all the other different features that we have got on top. I held off the update for over a year nearly because updates are never easy but there comes a time where you have to take the plunge as it becomes much needed. And I think with some tweaks here and there looks wise for a dark skin for example and most people who have concerns now wouldn't have any qualms. But hey that's a different story which is coming soon. With regards to the whole link opening within the same window, this is some SEO thing which I'm sure we can tweak.

Will be looking at doing another minor update post 00:00 then I'll review the post and topic rebuild happening and make a decision to take the site offline to speed up that process if deemed necessary.

Guys please understand there are MANY background tasks that are happening and will affect what you're now seeing. Especially things around quoted posts and such. We haven't even completed the rebuilding of messages yet.

There are still a lot of background processes running post update. We may need to wait for all to complete and then we shall see what's still not the same.
